Bolt came in with a high-stakes ask: a brand awareness video to support their rebrand, showcasing their one-click checkout as quick, easy, and effortless. The team built a film around Bolt's "Electric Dynamism" identity — wide-angle perspective, energetic movement, a bold palette, and a hint of surrealism.

Role: Storyboard/Illustration direction, in collaboration with the Superside team.

What I did: Directed the illustration work and held it to Bolt's existing illustration system. Reviewed every frame against the brand's visual rules — character style, line weight, color logic, perspective — making sure the work felt unmistakably Bolt even as we pushed the energy and dynamism the campaign called for.

The challenge: Working inside an existing illustration system is harder than starting from scratch. The brand has rules, the team has instincts, and the two don't always agree. The job was to keep the work loyal to Bolt's visual language without flattening the creative ambition — making sure every illustration looked like it belonged to the brand and the campaign at the same time.
